Amy Pond’s Doctor Who Exit Will Be Unexpected and Emotional

While promoting her upcoming indie-com “Not Another Happy Ending” at Cannes last week, current Doctor Who companion Karen Gillan sat down with and confirmed that her character Amy Pond will be leaving the long running BBC Sci Fi show for good.

Amy Pond’s exit from Doctor Who is not surprising news, since it has been rumored for a long time and talked about by whovians, but what’s interesting is her manner of leaving. Judging by Gillan’s comments, Amy Pond’s final moments in the series is Not Another Happy Ending:

“I literally couldn’t read it without crying,” says Gillan. “It was the most highly charged read-through I’ve ever experienced. But I couldn’t have asked for a better exit. I don’t think it’ll be what people expect.”
