Sofia Vergara and Amber Heard Joins Cast of Machete Sequel

The sequel to Robert Rodriquez' Grindhouse trailer-turned-full-length-feature Machete is building quite an intriguing and impressive cast, with megababes Sofia Vergara and Amber Heard signing on to play major roles.

Entitled Machete Kills, the sequel will feature Sofia Vergara as Madame Desdemona, who is a leather-clad brothel owner whose "employees" are in possession of key information. Amber Heard, on the other hand, will play the role of an assassin named Miss San Antonio.

The two actresses will join a cast that now includes Mel Gibson (as a villainous arms dealer) and original cast members Danny Trejo, Jessica Alba, and Michelle Rodriguez, who will all be reprising their original roles.

Machete Kills is expected to open next year, barring any unforeseen delays.
