Trailer: The Dark Knight Rises Part Trois

Update: it turns out that cracking the viral campaign yesterday will lead to clues that in turn lead to the final full trailer for The Dark Knight Rises. I didn't crack the clues meself, since I'm lazy and not intelligent enough, but someone else did and I get to reap the benefits.

There's a lot of pants-dropping moments in the trailer, but there's been so many rumors and speculations about The Dark Knight Rises' story that I won't even bother discussing them. Just watch the trailer, try to guess how the scenes will play out, and wait for The Dark Knight Rises' opening on July 20, 2012.

New Viral Campaign for The Dark Knight Rises

Current visitors of TheDarkKnightRises.com will be presented with a case file marked as "Anonymous Vigilante Investigation", which contains the Dark Knight's rap sheet, arrest warrant, and Wanted Poster.

The case file also includes an internal memo sent around the Gotham City PD, outlining the need to apprehend the caped crusader before "Harvey Dent Day". The memo is actually an invite for fans to join in on a scavenger hunt, with a string of global locations listed at which pictures should be taken and sent to the film's Twitter account.

Most of the locations are in the UK, so if you live near the areas, you need to get out there and start photographing the frig out of those locations, just so you can get the rewards and share it with geographically-challenged fans like me.

New Teaser Images for the Dark Knight Rises

We're only a few weeks away from The Dark Knight Rises' much-awaited premiere, and Avengers is already out of the way, so I guess the teaser image floodgates are now open. In a Bat kind of way.

There's bunch of new images released lately, putting the spotlight on several key players in the movie, like Lucius Fox, Bruce Wayne in and out of the Batsuit (Bale's Bruce doesn't look as muscular as he did in the past two movies, doesn't he?), Bane, Catwoman, and whoever Joseph Gordon Levitt is supposed to play (there are rumors abound that The Dark Knight Rises' story is about Bruce dying in the hands of Bane, with someone else taking on the mantle of the Bat. Perhaps Bruce was leaner in this movie so that Levitt wouldn't look too awkward in the suit?)

The Dark Knight Rises Gets PG-13 Rating

The MPAA has recently awarded an official certificate to Nolan's third installment in The Dark Knight Trilogy, and the rating given was PG-13, marking what is said to be the darkest Batman movie series to date as suitable for the entire family.

Before you start worrying that Warner has toned down the film just to get a broader audience, it should be worth remembering that the previous Nolan Bat-film, The Dark Knight, also received a PG-13 even though it featured heavy violence and dark themes.

If anything, having a PG-13 rating will be good for Warner, since it will allow the movie to reach a wider audience, with the studio already expecting the film to be their biggest release this year.
