Injustice: Gods Among Us Slow Motion Fix

Okay, so Injustice: Gods Among Us was ported to the PC a couple of months ago. I'm not going to bother reviewing the game, as you probably reached this post while looking for a solution to the slow motion gameplay and you already have a copy of the game (if you're not familiar with the game yet, it's basically Mortal Kombat with DC characters like Superman and Batman.)

First thing's first - what exactly is the problem with the game?

Technically, it's a rush porting job, and we're not talking about being unoptimized. It's actually a very light game that will run well even on a low/mid-range rig (to give you an idea on what it takes to run the game: I have an old Core 2 Duo e8400 + nVidia GT 440 that runs it well on 1080p, with settings on what's basically medium.)

The problem with Injustice: Gods Among Us Ultimate Edition's PC Port, is that whoever is doing the porting didn't bother ensuring that the engine is frame independent. This means unlike majority of PC games these days, when the PC running it struggles to maintain the speed, it doesn't drop frames. Instead, it continues to pump out all 60 frames of the scene, resulting in slow motion instead of frameskips.

Unlike Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 Full Burst, which was also frame-dependent but had the excuse that the engine was coded to be frame dependent from the start and would require massive rewrites of the code, there's simply no excuse for Injustice Gods Among Us because it's using Unreal Engine 3, which was originally developed on the PC and supports frameskipping.

So yeah, Injustice Gods Among Us: Ultimate Edition suffers from slow motion gameplay even on some high end rigs because it can't skip frames like a PC game should do due to the lack of standardized hardware configuration. What can you do about it?

Free Flash Game: Batman - Rooftop Caper

I haven't posted any free flash games in a while, so I hope this one makes up for it. It's an official Warner Bros Flash Game made as a tie-in to the Batman: The Brave and The Bold cartoon show. It fits in well with the Batman posts these past few days, even though the source material is a way lighter interpretation of the caped crusader.

Play Batman: Rooftop Caper straight from your browser, after the cut:

Watch Batman: City of Scars for Free

If you're looking for a free film to watch, without infringing on anyone's copyrights, then you may want to set aside a little bit of time to watch Aaron and Sean Schoenkefan's film Batman: City of Scars.

The fan film is not your run of the mill short, as it clocks in at 30 mins - long enough to be considered a TV pilot, and with production values that make it look good enough for network TV. It's still obviously made on the cheap, but it's one of the cases where the setting, the direction, and the camera work all help in hiding the blemishes inherent in low budget films.

The Dark Knight Rises Gets PG-13 Rating

The MPAA has recently awarded an official certificate to Nolan's third installment in The Dark Knight Trilogy, and the rating given was PG-13, marking what is said to be the darkest Batman movie series to date as suitable for the entire family.

Before you start worrying that Warner has toned down the film just to get a broader audience, it should be worth remembering that the previous Nolan Bat-film, The Dark Knight, also received a PG-13 even though it featured heavy violence and dark themes.

If anything, having a PG-13 rating will be good for Warner, since it will allow the movie to reach a wider audience, with the studio already expecting the film to be their biggest release this year.

Download This Movie - Batman: Seeds of Arkham

Well, not really download, it's more like watch online for free since it's hosted on Youtube. But if the fanmovie Batman: City of Scars left you wanting more, Kevin Porter and Aaron Schonke are back with Batman: Seeds of Arkham, the 8 minute (yeah, it's shorter. Boo!) follow up to their successful City of Scars fanfilm.

Seeds of Arkham picks up where City of Scars left off, with Gotham City thrown into chaos after the death of the clown prince (spoilers!). The fanfilm starts with Batman and (a really, really awesome representation of) the batmobile taking on a group of thugs. We then cut to the villains of Seeds of Arkham, Killer Croc and Poison Ivy, who have teamed up and captured Nightwing. What's their plan, and can Batman take on both Killer Croc and Ivy? You'll have to watch the movie to find out, it's only 8 minutes, dude.

The Man Behind the (Lamborghini) Bat

Last week, a video of a Batman driving a Lamborghini Batmobile and being pulled over by policemen spread on Youtube. Commonly known under the titles Lamborghini Batman or route 29 Batman, the video is fairly straightforward and lacks any controversial elements. Batman was polite to the officers, the officers just did their job (there was no offense, they just needed to check people who look suspicious) and they parted ways without any trouble once things got cleared up. People just liked the novelty of seeing Batman being pulled over.

But the Lamborghini Batman is no social misanthrope. He's not even a comic book geek on the way to a cosplay convention. His real name is Bruce WayneLenny Robinson, and he's a real hero.

Batman - The Dark Knight Rises Spoilers

Okay, news about Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises have been sparse as of late, as the flood of teaser images and viral marketing campaigns have grinded to a halt once filming wrapped up, but there's a new set of Batman The Dark Knight Rises Spoilers floating around courtesy of Warner Bros licensee Filmcells, who published the following synopsis on their product page:
