The Avengers Movie Clip: Iron Man VS Thor

The Avengers has already come and gone, so I guess it's fair game to post actual clips from the movie now, even though it's not really spoiler-y. This clip is one of my most favorite parts in the movie: Iron Man and Thor duking it out.


Of course, the Thor in the Avengers movie (and the Ultimates series in which the movie is based on) is physically weaker than the Thor in the mainstream comic book universe (the earth 616 version), but IMO, it makes for a better fight, as you get the feeling that it could have gone either way, even when Thor straight out breaks the Iron Man armor.

Eliza Dushku as She-Hulk?

No, she's not gonna play She-Hulk in a live action movie. We don't believe she has the bulk and mass necessary to portray the role (we'd have to pick MMA Sweetheart Gina Carano if we're talking about an actress playing She-Hulk in live action). Eliza Dushku is going to lend her voice to Bruce Banner's gamma-irradiated cousin, Jennifer Walters, in Disney XD's upcoming Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H. series.

At least, that's what rumors say. Disney nor Marvel has not yet confirmed the former Buffy star's participation in the upcoming series. The rumors just started (and for good reason) due to Adrian Pasdar, who's voicing Iron Man in Disney XD's Ultimate Spiderman series, making the following statement:

“The funny thing is if people were to actually visit these animation rooms and see the guys and the girls that are doing it, with the exception of Eliza, who’s a stunning beauty, the rest of us, we don’t look quite as good as the animation characters they draw for us,” Pasdar said in a recent interview with IGN."

That's pretty much confirmation that Eliza Dushku's gonna be in the series, we're just marking it as a rumor because we don't trust TV execs.

New Avengers Banners

The Avengers movie's premiere is just around the corner, and Marvel doesn't want you to be complacent, they want to remind you that yes, Captain America, Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, Hawkeye, and Scarlett Johansson's boobies are going to assemble soon! and they chose to remind you by releasing several banner images that look awesome enough to be worthy of the Avengers name, and one that features Jeremy Renner.

Free Comic Book: The Avengers and VISA team up

The Avengers are a bit of a hot property right now. There’s their new feud with the X-Men, and then there’s the new Marvel Universe programming block on Disney XD. Of course, there’s also the Avengers movie. But one of the more oddball uses of the Avengers franchise is “Saving The Day”, which is a FREE comic book sponsored by VISA that aims to teach children basic and practical money skills.

The comic book also features Spider-man, and together with Avengers members Iron Man, Giant Man, Black Widow, Hulk, and Thor, they serve as the perfect vehicle to teach the usually boring (for kids, at least) subject of financial literacy. Kids are more receptive of lessons when taught by role models that are entertaining and colorful, it seems.
