Dead or Alive 5's Bouncy and Transparency "Mechanics" Costume-Specific

The Dead or Alive series may have one of the most fun and competition-friendly gameplay in the long list of 3D fighting game franchises these days, but there's no denying the fact that it wouldn't have been as popular as it is right now if it weren't for its "bouncy" and "jiggle"-friendly physics engine.

The latest in the series, Dead or Alive 5, may be planning to class things up a bit in an effort to move away from its juvenile image, but they're probably trying to take baby steps as DoA5 director Yohei Niibori recently talked about the costume damage we've been seeing in recent trailers.

Niibori says that in addition to battle damage, each character AND costume in the game will have different levels of "bounce". He also added that the costumes will provide transparency options. Those who understood what I'm talking about with the "bounce" thing will get what transparency settings will add to the game.

What's more important, at least to me, is the fact that DOA5 will feature unlockable costumes instead of DLC content. Yay! no more nickel-and-diming for extra costumes.
