WWE and Lionsgate to Reboot Leprechaun

Word has it that WWE and Lionsgate have teamed up for a Leprechaun reboot. For the uninitiated, The Leprechaun films started in the 90s, with Warwick Davis playing the titular beastie. The first film in the series is also responsible for giving a young Jennifer Aniston her first big movie break, as the damsel in distress.

The basic premise for the Leprechaun films is that the Leprechaun is looking for all the pieces of coins from his pot of gold, with most films having at least one of the coins stolen or lost until it finds its way to a poor soon-to-be-victim.

According to reports, WWE is planning to put a "modern spin" on the series, which sounds like a bad idea, because the last time they put a spin on the Leprechaun movies, we ended up with Leprechaun in Space and Leprechaun in the Hood. Besides, I can't think of anything else they can do to put a modern spin on the franchise. Leprechaun Creates a Facebook Account and does SEO, anyone?
