Survival-Horror Resident Evil Wouldn't Sell, says Capcom

If you've been following the Resident Evil series of games since the first one came out in 1996, you're familiar with how it slowly evolved from a true blue survival horror game, to a slightly faster paced co-op shooter with horror elements.

The change in Resident Evil's tone is somewhat of a divisive issue, as there are fans who like the new direction, but there are also those who feel like the market is already saturated with shooters, and that they don't need a new Call of Duty with horror elements tacked in.
